01 PURPOSE AND SCOPE
These Terms of Service govern educational services supplied directly by CodingSTEAM to consumers, including parents, legal guardians and adult learners.
They cover:
A. Personalised online mentoring arranged directly with CodingSTEAM. B. School extracurricular programmes offered to families at participating partner schools.
A free trial request, enquiry, waiting-list entry or school sign-up form does not by itself create a paid contract.
A booking confirmation, enrolment confirmation, quotation, invoice or other service-specific communication may contain additional details concerning the Learner, timetable, programme, price, payment schedule or school-specific arrangements. Once accepted, those details form part of the contract.
Where a service-specific condition conflicts with these Terms, the service-specific condition applies to that service unless these Terms or applicable law provide the Customer with a more favourable mandatory right.
02 SERVICE PROVIDER
The services are provided by:
CodingSTEAM, S.L. NIF: B10737708 Registered office: Calle Hermosilla 48, 1º derecha, 28001 Madrid, Spain Email: contact@codingsteam.com Website: codingsteam.com
“CodingSTEAM”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to CodingSTEAM, S.L.
03 CUSTOMER AND LEARNER
The “Customer” is the adult who enters into the contract and is responsible for payment and contractual communications.
The “Learner” is the person receiving the educational service.
Where the Learner is under 18:
- A parent or legal guardian must normally make the booking or enrolment.
- The Customer confirms that they are authorised to arrange the service and provide the necessary information concerning the Learner.
- The Customer remains responsible for payments, formal notices and contractual decisions.
- CodingSTEAM may communicate directly with the Learner for ordinary educational purposes through appropriate channels.
- CodingSTEAM may require parental or guardian confirmation, consent or participation before a service begins.
Adult learners may contract in their own name.
04 SERVICES
CodingSTEAM provides personalised and small-group education in areas that may include:
- Coding and programming foundations.
- Python and other programming languages.
- Artificial intelligence and responsible technology use.
- Web, application and game development.
- Data, automation and Computer Science.
- Robotics, electronics and physical computing.
- Technical projects, portfolios and academic support.
- Other agreed STEAM subjects.
The exact content depends on the selected service, the Learner’s age, current level, confidence, goals, interests, available equipment and progress.
CodingSTEAM may adapt explanations, pace, exercises and project choice during the service. This educational flexibility does not allow CodingSTEAM to change the agreed price, essential delivery format or material commitment without the Customer’s agreement.
05 INFORMATION PROVIDED BEFORE PURCHASE
Before the Customer becomes obliged to pay, CodingSTEAM will provide or confirm the information relevant to the service, including:
- The main characteristics of the service.
- Whether it is online or delivered through a school.
- The Learner or group concerned.
- The session or programme duration.
- The timetable, or how it will be confirmed.
- The total price, including applicable taxes and unavoidable charges.
- The payment method and billing schedule.
- Any minimum duration, recurring arrangement or notice period.
- Cancellation, rescheduling and termination conditions.
- Material equipment or software requirements.
- The applicable right of withdrawal for a distance contract.
- How to contact CodingSTEAM with a complaint.
No automatic renewal, subscription or minimum commitment applies unless it is clearly disclosed and expressly accepted before purchase.
06 FREE ONLINE TRIAL
CodingSTEAM currently offers a free 45-minute online trial, subject to availability.
The trial:
- Does not require payment details.
- Does not start a paid subscription.
- Does not create an obligation to purchase future sessions.
- Helps the mentor understand the Learner’s current level, confidence, interests and appropriate next challenge.
- May be followed by feedback concerning strengths, a recommended pathway and suggested next steps.
A trial request does not guarantee a particular date, time, mentor or later paid place.
CodingSTEAM may decline, cancel or reschedule a trial for reasonable capacity, suitability, safety or operational reasons.
After the trial, CodingSTEAM may recommend a session length, format, pace or pathway. The Customer is free to accept or decline that recommendation.
07 FORMATION OF A PAID CONTRACT
A paid contract is formed only when:
01 CodingSTEAM has supplied the essential service and price information;
02 the Customer clearly accepts the paid service;
03 any required parental or guardian information has been supplied; and
04 CodingSTEAM confirms the service in writing or another durable format.
A provisional timetable, availability discussion, sign-up form, waiting-list entry or recommendation is not a paid contract.
The Customer should review the confirmation promptly and report any error concerning the Learner, service, price, timetable or contact details.
08 ONLINE MENTORING
Online mentoring may be offered:
- One-to-one.
- To two students learning together.
- In a small group of three or four suitably matched students.
- In another specifically agreed format.
One-to-one mentoring is the principal fully personalised format.
Shared sessions are available only where CodingSTEAM considers the Learners sufficiently compatible in level, goals, pace and support needs. CodingSTEAM may recommend separate sessions or a different format after assessment.
Sessions are normally taught in English, with bilingual support where appropriate and available.
A specific mentor, weekly time, project, platform or pathway is not guaranteed unless expressly confirmed. CodingSTEAM may provide a suitable substitute mentor where reasonably necessary.
09 SCHOOL EXTRACURRICULAR PROGRAMMES
School extracurricular programmes are available only through participating CodingSTEAM partner schools and are subject to school-specific availability.
Submitting a school extracurricular sign-up form:
- Records the family’s preferences.
- Does not guarantee a place.
- Does not guarantee a particular group, day, time, activity or pathway.
- Does not by itself create a payment obligation.
Before a place is confirmed, CodingSTEAM or the relevant school may consider the Learner’s year group, experience, practical availability, group suitability and available places.
The place, timetable, programme, price, term dates and next steps will be confirmed through the applicable school enrolment process.
Activities may vary according to the programme agreed with the school, the participating year groups, available facilities, equipment, enrolment and staffing.
Where a school or another institution is the contracting party, its valid enrolment conditions may govern payment, attendance, collection arrangements, closures, refunds and other school-specific matters. These Terms do not replace CodingSTEAM’s separate agreement with the institution.
10 PRICES
The price confirmed before purchase is the price that applies.
Current online mentoring prices are:
ONE-TO-ONE
- 45-minute session: €45.
- 60-minute session: €60.
SHARED 60-MINUTE SESSIONS
- Two students: €80 in total (€40 per student).
- Three students: €90 in total (€30 per student).
- Four students: €100 in total (€25 per student).
The shared-session prices above apply to a 60-minute session and depend on the Learners being suitably matched.
A price for another duration, group size, specialist requirement or service format will be confirmed before the Customer agrees to purchase it. CodingSTEAM will not infer or apply a price that has not been clearly stated.
For longer sessions, an agreed concentration break may be used. Only mentoring time is charged.
School extracurricular prices are confirmed through the relevant school enrolment process and may differ by programme.
All mandatory taxes and unavoidable charges will be included in, or clearly disclosed with, the total price before the Customer becomes obliged to pay.
If a website price and a written booking confirmation are inconsistent, CodingSTEAM will correct the inconsistency and obtain the Customer’s agreement before charging the higher amount.
11 PRICE CHANGES
A future price change will not affect a session or fixed package already paid for.
CodingSTEAM will provide advance notice before applying a new price to future sessions in an ongoing arrangement.
The Customer may end future services before the new price takes effect, subject to payment for services already supplied and any valid late-cancellation charge for an imminent session.
12 PAYMENT
Payment must be made using a method offered in the relevant booking, invoice, checkout or school enrolment process.
The confirmation or invoice will identify:
- The amount due.
- The due date or billing schedule.
- What the payment covers.
- Any deposit or advance payment.
- The accepted payment method.
The Customer must provide accurate billing information and ensure that any payment authorisation remains valid.
Where an external payment service is used, CodingSTEAM does not normally receive or store complete payment-card details.
If an amount remains overdue after reasonable notice, CodingSTEAM may pause future paid services until the account is brought up to date. A Learner will not be publicly involved in a payment dispute.
13 SCHEDULING
Session dates and times are subject to confirmation.
Online sessions may be arranged individually or as a recurring weekly time. CodingSTEAM may reserve a consistent time where possible, but recurring availability is not guaranteed indefinitely.
The Customer must keep their contact details current and review booking confirmations, joining details and scheduling messages.
A session begins and ends at the confirmed time unless otherwise agreed.
14 CUSTOMER CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING
This section applies to ongoing online mentoring unless a service-specific confirmation gives the Customer more favourable conditions.
A Customer may cancel or reschedule an online session without penalty when CodingSTEAM receives at least 24 hours’ notice before the scheduled start time.
Where less than 24 hours’ notice is received:
- The affected session may be charged, up to its full price.
- A missed session without notice may be treated as a late cancellation.
- Genuine exceptional circumstances may be discussed with CodingSTEAM.
A change request is treated as received when it reaches the scheduling method specified by CodingSTEAM. The Customer should retain written confirmation of the change.
This policy is separate from the statutory right of withdrawal described in Section 24.
School extracurricular cancellations, absences, closures and replacement-class arrangements are governed by the applicable enrolment confirmation or school-specific conditions.
15 LATE ARRIVAL
If a Learner joins late, CodingSTEAM will make reasonable use of the remaining scheduled time.
Unless otherwise agreed:
- The session ends at the original time.
- The full session price may remain payable where the mentor was available for the booked period.
- Repeated lateness may result in a discussion about a more suitable timetable.
If a mentor is late, CodingSTEAM will provide the missing time, arrange an appropriate credit or make another fair adjustment.
16 CANCELLATION OR INTERRUPTION BY CODINGSTEAM
If CodingSTEAM cancels a paid online session, the Customer may choose between:
- A replacement session at a mutually reasonable time.
- A credit for the affected session.
- A refund of the amount paid for the affected session.
CodingSTEAM may reschedule where reasonably necessary because of illness, safety, staff availability, venue or school closure, technical failure or another operational issue. CodingSTEAM will give as much notice as reasonably possible.
CodingSTEAM will not charge for a session that it cannot substantially provide.
School extracurricular replacement or refund arrangements may depend on the school calendar and the conditions supplied during enrolment.
17 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ONLINE SESSIONS
The Customer is responsible for providing:
- A suitable laptop or desktop computer.
- A stable internet connection.
- A working microphone.
- A modern supported browser.
- A reasonably quiet and appropriate learning environment.
- Access to software identified before the session.
A webcam may be helpful but is not automatically required.
CodingSTEAM will provide reasonable instructions for required software or accounts.
If a material technical failure on CodingSTEAM’s side prevents delivery, Section 16 applies.
If a failure on the Customer’s side prevents or substantially shortens the session, CodingSTEAM will make reasonable efforts to assist. The session may remain chargeable where the mentor was available and the issue was outside CodingSTEAM’s control.
18 THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS AND ACCOUNTS
Services may use external communication, classroom, coding, collaboration or payment platforms.
Where a material external platform is required, CodingSTEAM will explain that requirement during booking or onboarding.
The Customer may need to:
- Create or authorise an account.
- Accept the provider’s terms.
- Configure appropriate privacy or parental controls.
- Keep login credentials secure.
CodingSTEAM is not responsible for the independent operation or terms of a third-party platform. CodingSTEAM remains responsible for using reasonable professional care when selecting and using platforms as part of its own service.
Passwords should not be shared with a mentor unless a specific secure process has been agreed.
19 CUSTOMER AND LEARNER RESPONSIBILITIES
The Customer and Learner must:
- Provide accurate and relevant information.
- Treat mentors, staff and other Learners respectfully.
- Attend or join sessions on time.
- Follow reasonable educational, safety and technical instructions.
- Use accounts, meeting links and materials only for the agreed service.
- Inform CodingSTEAM of relevant accessibility or communication requirements in sufficient time to prepare.
- Avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information through ordinary email or general forms.
The following are prohibited:
- Harassment, discrimination, threats or abusive behaviour.
- Deliberate disruption.
- Sharing private meeting links or account access without permission.
- Unauthorised recording, photography or screenshots.
- Uploading unlawful, harmful or inappropriate material.
- Attempting to access systems, files or accounts without authorisation.
- Using the service to plagiarise, cheat or misrepresent another person’s work.
20 SAFEGUARDING AND MINORS
For a minor Learner:
- A parent or legal guardian should make the booking.
- A parent or guardian should be available at the beginning of a younger child’s online session and remain contactable during it.
- The Customer remains responsible for the Learner’s physical supervision and home environment, taking account of age and needs.
- Educational communications must use appropriate service channels.
- CodingSTEAM may pause or end a session where necessary to address a safety or safeguarding concern.
CodingSTEAM is an educational provider. It is not an emergency, medical, mental-health or counselling service.
Where a concern arises, CodingSTEAM may contact the Customer, the relevant institution or an appropriate authority where necessary and lawful.
21 RECORDINGS, IMAGES AND PUBLICATION
An online session is not recorded merely because it takes place remotely.
If recording is proposed for a particular purpose, the Customer will be told what will be recorded, why it is needed, who will have access, how long it will be retained and what permission or other legal basis applies.
CodingSTEAM will not publicly use an identifiable Learner’s image, voice, testimonial or original work for promotional purposes without a separate appropriate permission process.
Refusing promotional or media consent does not prevent the Learner from receiving the ordinary educational service.
Customers and Learners must not record or publish a mentor, another Learner or a session without permission.
22 LEARNING MATERIALS AND LEARNER WORK
CodingSTEAM and its licensors retain ownership of their pre-existing teaching materials, methods, templates, examples, software resources, branding and website content.
The Customer and Learner receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use supplied materials for their own learning.
They must not sell, publish, distribute or commercially exploit CodingSTEAM materials without permission.
Subject to third-party rights and incorporated CodingSTEAM materials, the Learner retains ownership of original work they create.
CodingSTEAM may review, store and share Learner work as reasonably necessary to teach, provide feedback, report progress and administer the service. Public or promotional use requires separate permission.
23 EDUCATIONAL QUALITY AND OUTCOMES
CodingSTEAM will provide the service with reasonable professional care and skill.
Progress depends on factors including attendance, engagement, previous knowledge, practice, wellbeing, available time and the Learner’s goals.
CodingSTEAM does not guarantee:
- A particular grade, test score or examination result.
- Admission to a school, university, internship or job.
- Completion of a project by a particular date unless expressly agreed.
- A competition or interview outcome.
- Continuous availability of a particular mentor or external platform.
A dissatisfied Customer should contact CodingSTEAM promptly. CodingSTEAM will review the concern and seek an appropriate resolution, which may include clarification, additional support, a replacement session, credit or refund where justified.
Any reference to a satisfaction guarantee means that CodingSTEAM will review a genuine service concern and seek a fair resolution. It is not a guarantee of a particular educational result and does not limit statutory consumer rights.
24 RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL FOR DISTANCE CONTRACTS
This section applies where a consumer enters into a paid contract with CodingSTEAM at a distance, including online, by email or by telephone.
24.1 Withdrawal period
Subject to the legal exceptions, the Customer may withdraw from the contract within 14 calendar days from the date the contract is concluded, without giving a reason.
To exercise the right, the Customer must send an unequivocal withdrawal statement before the period expires. The model form in the Appendix may be used but is not compulsory.
Not attending a session or stopping payment does not by itself constitute a withdrawal notice.
24.2 Starting during the withdrawal period
If the Customer asks for a paid service to begin during the 14-day withdrawal period, CodingSTEAM will request an express instruction to begin early.
If the Customer then withdraws after part of the service has been supplied, the Customer may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the service properly supplied before the withdrawal notice, as permitted by law.
24.3 Full performance
The right of withdrawal may be lost after a service has been fully performed only where the applicable legal requirements have been met, including the Customer’s prior express consent to early performance and acknowledgement that full performance will result in loss of the right.
24.4 Refund
Where a valid withdrawal requires a refund, CodingSTEAM will make it without undue delay and, in any event, within the period required by applicable consumer law.
The refund will normally use the original payment method unless another method is expressly agreed and causes no additional cost to the Customer.
Nothing in this section limits a more favourable mandatory consumer right.
25 ENDING ONGOING ONLINE MENTORING
Unless a minimum commitment or notice period was expressly accepted before purchase, the Customer may end future online mentoring by written notice.
The Customer remains responsible for:
- Services already supplied.
- Valid late-cancellation or non-attendance charges.
- Other amounts lawfully due under the confirmed agreement.
If the Customer has prepaid for unused future sessions and no different valid package condition was clearly disclosed, CodingSTEAM will refund the unused balance after deducting amounts properly due.
CodingSTEAM may end future services because of:
- Serious or repeated breach of these Terms.
- Non-payment after reasonable notice.
- A material safety or safeguarding concern.
- Unlawful or abusive conduct.
- A breakdown in the working relationship that makes safe or effective delivery impracticable.
- Loss of the capacity reasonably required to provide the agreed service.
Except where immediate action is necessary, CodingSTEAM will provide reasonable notice and explain the principal reason.
Where CodingSTEAM ends a service for reasons not caused by the Customer’s breach, it will refund unused prepaid sessions.
26 CHANGES TO SERVICES OR TERMS
CodingSTEAM may make reasonable changes to exercises, tools, teaching content or administrative procedures where the essential service and agreed value are maintained.
A material change to the price, duration, delivery format or essential nature of an existing paid service requires the Customer’s agreement unless necessary to comply with law or address an urgent safety or security issue.
Changes to these Terms apply prospectively and will not retrospectively reduce rights attached to services already purchased.
Where a material update affects an ongoing service, CodingSTEAM will provide reasonable notice. The Customer may end future services before a materially disadvantageous change takes effect.
27 EVENTS OUTSIDE REASONABLE CONTROL
Neither party is responsible for failure or delay caused by an event outside its reasonable control, provided that the affected party takes reasonable steps to reduce the effect and resumes performance when reasonably practicable.
Such events may include serious illness, public emergency, major power or network failure, school or venue closure, natural disaster, industrial action or governmental restriction.
If the affected service cannot be provided within a reasonable time, the Customer may end the affected future service and receive a refund for any part paid for but not supplied.
28 LIABILITY
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law.
CodingSTEAM is responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by its breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill.
CodingSTEAM is not responsible for loss caused solely by:
- Inaccurate information supplied by the Customer.
- The Customer’s or Learner’s unlawful or seriously improper conduct.
- A failure of the Customer’s equipment or connection.
- An independent external service outside CodingSTEAM’s reasonable control.
- Failure to follow reasonable setup, security or safety instructions.
Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights.
29 PRIVACY
CodingSTEAM processes personal data according to its Privacy Policy and any privacy notice supplied with a form or service.
The Customer must only provide information that is accurate, relevant and lawful to share.
The Privacy Policy explains how personal-data rights may be exercised.
30 COMPLAINTS
Complaints may be sent to:
A complaint should include only the information reasonably needed to identify and investigate the issue, such as:
- The Customer’s name and contact details.
- The affected booking, session, programme or invoice.
- A clear description of the concern.
- The outcome requested.
The Learner’s name should only be included where necessary.
CodingSTEAM will acknowledge and investigate complaints without undue delay and will seek a fair resolution.
Official consumer complaint forms will be made available where required.
The Customer may also contact the competent public consumer authority or pursue another remedy available under applicable law.
31 GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
These Terms and the contract are governed by Spanish law.
This choice does not deprive a consumer of mandatory protections that apply in the country where the consumer habitually resides.
The parties should first try to resolve a dispute directly and in good faith.
Court proceedings will be brought before the courts determined by applicable law. A consumer is not required to bring a claim exclusively in Madrid where another court has mandatory jurisdiction.
32 GENERAL PROVISIONS
If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent legally possible.
A delay in enforcing a right does not waive that right.
The Customer may store or print these Terms. CodingSTEAM will provide confirmation of an electronic contract in a durable format where required.
